What To Expect

Sundays at Redeemer

There is a lot going on at Church of the Redeemer, but our most important practice as a church is our weekly gathering for worship on Sunday mornings. When you come to worship with us at our humble home on Caldwell Lane, you can expect to be warmly greeted at the door by parishioners who can help point you in the right direction.

As Anglican Christians, we worship according to the Book of Common Prayer, which means that our liturgy includes singing, praying, listening to the Gospel proclaimed in the Scriptures read and preached, professing our faith, confessing our sins, receiving absolution, and gathering around the Lord’s Table to celebrate our Communion with God and one another through the cross and resurrection of Jesus.

Children are cherished participants in our common life at Redeemer. On Sundays we offer a nursery for babies as well as nursing moms, and classes for toddlers through 5th grade. You may drop off your children 15 minutes before each service begins and pick them up during The Peace (just before Communion). We utilize a check-in/check-out system for safety purposes, and all our staff and volunteers receive child safety training and undergo background checks.

There is usually ample parking in our lot, but when necessary we also use the lawn along the driveway to your right as you enter. There are several spaces reserved for visitors in front of the building. Our worship services last about an hour and fifteen minutes, and we love to connect with each other over coffee during the half hour between services.

Our Vision

Redeemer Culture

Although we’re not a terribly small church (we’re between 350-400 people on a typical Sunday), we often hear that we feel smaller than we are. As with any family, our culture isn’t something that can be easily spelled out in words, but we think you’ll find just that: Redeemer is very much like a family.

Most of what we do as a church emerges organically from the grassroots of the congregation and depends upon inspired lay leadership. Our staff are not employed primarily to run programs but to be pastorally present to the parish and to support and resource those in our community who feel called to lead particular Gospel endeavors. We find that the church’s best ministries are not those offered as commodities to be consumed but those that create opportunities for individuals and families to invest in their own discipleship, community, and mission as citizens of the kingdom of heaven.
